First Light: The Dark Age of the Universe

This video is the first of a series that will highlight the science behind The James Webb Space Telescope. JWST will have the capability of showing us a part of the universe we've never seen before: a time when the first stars were born, lived their lives, and died. Here, the concepts of recombination, reionization, the first stars and black holes are presented. JWST will give us our first glimpse into this time in our universal history. This video was produced over the summer as part of the STScI Summer Student Program. I had the privilege of working with Aimei Kutt and +Tiffany Davis to make a video highlighting some of the amazing science The James Webb Space Telescope will allow us to accomplish. Aimei produced the wonderful animation sequences you see and Tiffany edited the video and created the graphics and titles.
